Activist codes do not indicate activism in the traditional sense. They are used to
group voters. All Activist Code questions are yes/no. The list of Activist Codes is
quite lengthy. The following list of codes are major HCDEC Activist Codes.
Management of Activist Codes is important because if you have too many of
them, you will not be able to extract data properly. For example, if you create a
“Volunteer: Canvasser” Activity Code. That may be useful information for
everyone. However, everyone who is tagged in that way should also be tagged as
a 2020 HCDEC Volunteer. In that way, it is easy to determine how many voters
volunteered in 2020, but it is also easy to determine what percentage of that
number were canvassers.
If you identify an Activist Code that you want to add to the list, please feel free to
create it. In addition, forward the name and purpose to the Chair of the HCDEC
Field Organizing Committee (PFO.hcdec@proton.me) so that it can be shared with others.
(Note: The more we can standardize our use of certain survey questions, the more
data we will be able to extract.)
(Note: An * indicates an Activist Code created by the FDP)
